As of August 2026, to protect the quality of our beef and the welfare of our animals, we can no longer allow any live animal intended for freezer beef to leave our property for processing at outside facilities. All finished steers must be processed through Homestead Meats, where we have built a trusted working relationship over the past 8–9 years.
Maintaining a calm, low‑stress environment is just as important as feeding our cattle twice daily from birth to slaughter. Stress immediately before harvest can negatively affect meat quality, tenderness, and flavor. By keeping our animals on familiar ground and transporting them only to Homestead, we ensure:
- Minimal stress
- Proper handling
- Consistent carcass quality
- A reliable, predictable finished product for our customers
This policy protects both the animal and the integrity of the beef we provide.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we truly believe this is what’s best for the animal and for the quality of beef we deliver to you. Our commitment to low‑stress handling and consistent, high‑quality beef remains our top priority.
